These logs help in monitoring suspicious activities, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring better security and accountability within the system.

What Are Action Logs?

Action logs record every major event that occurs in the system, including user registrations, logins, password changes, listing modifications, and administrative actions. Each log entry includes essential details such as:

  • Section: The area where the action took place (e.g., User, Listing, Admin).
  • Action: The type of event recorded (e.g., Register, Login, Update, Delete).
  • ID: The unique identifier of the affected entity (e.g., User ID, Listing ID).
  • Data: Related data such as email, listing title, or category.
  • Comment: Additional information related to the action.
  • IP Address: The IP address of the user who performed the action.
  • Who: Identifies if the action was performed by a user or an administrator.
  • Date: The timestamp of when the action occurred.

Managing Action Logs

The action log system allows administrators to filter, search, and manage logs efficiently. Available actions include:

  • Search for a log: Use keywords or filters to find specific entries.
  • View details: Click on a log entry to view more information.
  • Bulk actions: Apply mass actions such as deleting multiple log entries.
  • Export logs: Download logs for further analysis or reporting.

How to Use Action Logs Effectively

To maximize the benefits of action logs:

  • Regularly review logs for suspicious activities, such as multiple failed login attempts or unauthorized changes.
  • Use the search and filtering options to quickly locate specific events or troubleshoot user issues.
  • Enable additional security measures if repeated suspicious actions are detected from a specific IP address.
  • Clear or export logs periodically to maintain database performance.
